An evidence-based Stages of Change approach

A "Focus Area" is used in each Roundtable.  This is a specific belief you hold or a behavior you have...

Roundtables are designed to "identify, magnify, and challenge" these beliefs and behaviors
in many different Focus Areas as part of our Curriculum.

See typical statements by clicking on a highlighted red, yellow, or green ring below.

NEED

Need

People in this group have a NEED for change, but...

either they don't recognize it or don't own it.

They can appear to be resistant, unmotivated, or just not ready for help.

They have likely heard, "You should make a change..." plenty of times.

Change is NOT on their radar; Focus Area is not currently a real issue or concern.

They are usually un-informed or under-informed about the consequences of their choices.

Repeated unsuccessful attempts can make them question their ability to change.

WANT

Want

People in this group WANT change, but...

they are on the fence about taking any meaningful action.

They seem to want the benefits of change without doing the work.

They often "say all the right things," but just don't follow through.

They show chronic indecision and procrastination; they can stay here for a long time.

They are motivated primarily out of compliance; not really invested in change.

They "talk the talk..."

WILLING

Willing

WILLING

People in this group are WILLING to take the action that change requires, and...

their actions show it.

They have an action plan and are using it, one day at a time.

They are working to prevent relapse.

They grow increasingly more confident that they can continue to walk out the changes they have made.

They are usually less tempted to relapse.

They "walk the walk."
