MY STORY...

Hi, I'm Jim.

A person who is grateful to be in long-term recovery from alcohol, drugs, and other life-controlling issues.

Blessed to have been on the Recovery Road since March 7, 1988.

Also have traveled on a dark road, the lonely and painful Road of Self-Destruction. I have spent time in many of the dark alleys off of this road as well.

It has not been an easy ride...

Barreling down this wrong road time and time again, seemingly on a suicide mission, I finally hit a wall...

A surrender, a detour, a new direction.

A new Road...

On this road I have found many freedoms,

freedoms FROM... and freedoms TO...

(think about that)

As in this picture, I have found many friends along the way, on this Recovery Road.

It's not sunny every day...

there is stormy weather, road construction, delays, traffic, and occasional breakdowns

(especially if you ride an old Harley like me...)

12-2-1 Roundtables?

Well, to me it's like cruising down the Recovery Highway. Each Roundtable is like a new exit ramp where I check my map, get fed and re-fuel so I can continue this magnificent journey, one mile at a time!

I'll conclude with text from the AA Big Book, page 164:

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.

May God bless you and keep you - until then.

I look forward to sharing a Roundtable with you...

…on the RECOVERY ROAD!
